How to have SUCCESS as a TRULY HEAL coach

BUILDING BLOCKS FOR A STUNNING CAREER

As a TRULY HEAL health coach you have many possibilities to help those in need while earning a good income.

A few weeks ago I signed up with a coaching program to see how others educate their students and noticed that they make everything look glorious, simple and easy. You’ll have the best time of your life! You will achieve instant success and become very rich without any effort on your side! Just sign up NOW!

I can’t do this because, first of all, I don't believe it to be true and second, I have not met a single person in my life that did not have to work for their success. To get to the top requires dedication and clever planning.

So instead of telling you it’s going to be easy, I rather share with you what I believe to be the key elements to be successful.

Self Confidence

As you will learn in the course . . . .  the world feels what you think about yourself and mirrors those feelings back. So if you feel inadequate and have no confidence then everybody will feel that and respond in the likes. That’s why it is important to build confidence and expertise in each of the subjects you want to present to the world.

Self confidence has to be earned. It’s a process of accumulating little moments of success and compacting them into authority.

Most people collect failures in their memory bank and then loose faith in themselves. Rather plaster your path towards success with hundreds of achievements by setting many little goals and then celebrate when you make them. Every assignment, research project, video, newsletter, class, lecture should be celebrated and “noted” as successful step towards your ultimate goal.

Media Training

A great way to start this whole “CREDIBILITY PROCESS” is by making little videos of the lessons you have learned, firstly for your private archive and then later, once you feel confident, for your clients. While you work through the course set up a little camera or webcam and explain what you have learned to an imaginary client behind the lens.

This is a phenomenal training technique which you can repeat as many times as you like until your message is clear, concise and fluent. You will notice that when you listen to yourself how secure you sound.

To be honest, I had to repeat many videos 20 times and even finish them the next day. It can take a while until each subject is ready for publicity. So don’t think you need to have them finished in one go. Maybe you are a super talent, but for a message to be concise it can take several attempts.

Usually my first videos are 20% to 50% longer than the final one. This shows that practice brings you to the point. Like Shakespeare said, “Rambling in volume”, everybody can, but getting to the point and presenting a concise message is an art that takes time.

Get their attention!

Unfortunately the subject of healthy living is not quite on the hit-list. That's why you need to build every presentation on the foundation of really valuable content and present it in a memorable way.

There are many different methods to get attention from your audience and it is best if you become clear, how you want to be known and seen by the world before you start.

So lets talk very shortly about the different forms of getting attention:

Controversial, accusing, opposing, blaming, uncovering.

This form of publicity is what the world is used to and responds very fast  Millions of Facebook, youtube and social media shares, outrage and community bitching are what people love. Sensational gossip as I call it.  This is by far the best form of getting attention but it is a two sided sword. As you well know (or will learn in the course) everything has two sides. You can't have one without the other. This means the louder you are the more opposition you will get.

I was not prepared when I launched "Cancer is curable now". I thought the whole world would be grateful, but NO. I was attacked right, left and center by opposition, outrage and authorities. Today I know that this was the best thing that could have happened because it created the success and publicity I wanted, but I was not prepared.

Always visualize a wave. If you create a tender ripple that has little positive magnitude you will have little negative feedback and little opposition. But if you create big waves and piss off a lot of very powerful people you will have big support and a lot of friends, but also massive opposition. The only question you need to ask yourself before you embark on this journey.... how much opposition am I willing and capable to handle.

The drawback of this approach is that clients may be afraid to associate with you, especially in the field of chronic disease and cancer as for this market it is not quite favorable to be overly aggressive in your approach. Never forget you deal with very scared and easily intimidated people.

Funny, joyful, interesting, sarcastic, hilarious, out of the box.

Everybody likes to be with someone who has humor and is funny but to be taken seriously while cracking jokes requires talent and a lot of practice. Tacky jokes can kill you instantly.

Some comedians are highly educational in their message and can get away with humor even though they challenge some critical beliefs. That’s an art to be developed. I really admire this ability because it’s super educational and entertaining at the same time. If you have a talent to do that, bring it to perfection.

Helpfulsupportive and well meaning.

You will find that this approach is far less effective in securing a spot at the top. You will easily drown in a myriad of articles that are neither shared nor seen. Just look into some of the article banks online and you will find thousands of articles that have been written for every subject in good faith, but have never been read. In the same way have helpful videos little to no clicks.  Don't hide your information in fear of creating a ripple effect. It would be a waste of your time, money and energy.

THE ULTIMATE SOLUTION

MIX all of the above into every presentation. Start with a lot of knowledge and helpful information to create authority. Then add some humour and self reflection while challenging existing beliefs. This is by far the most effective mix, especially when you challenge from a position of integrity which should always be the foundation of your work. This way you will be entertaining, educational and helpful all at once, plus you'll be admired for standing up to your beliefs.

Publicity Training

Invite a few clients, friends and relatives and whomever else you know, for a biweekly or monthly evening workshop. Then share what you have learned and what you have trained with a video. A captive audience like your grandparents who are happy to see you is a great start.

You will notice that talking in front of an audience is another huge step. My first talks were a disaster. I trembled from head to toe and made many mistakes. I even broke the cardinal rule No 1. “Never argue during a presentation with an attendee”. It was very embarrassing but I never gave up, and today it’s exhilarating and hugely inspirational to stand in front of a crowd. Especially if you get a couple more people each week. If you get less though or find people have a hundred excuses not to come, don't fall into despair but change your strategy.  For example reading from a slideshow will cause everybody to fall asleep. Having no images and speaking in a monotone voice is equally tiring. Instead, jump, clap, get emotional, play with your audience, speak loud and then whisper, keep them engaged. The better YOUR presentations are the more people will come. Captivate them with stories and visualizations as much as possible. They will love you for it because memory is only triggered by emotions. As soon as you can make them laugh, cry and feel what you mean, you have achieved the ultimate goal.

The biggest secret of success in a presenter's career is … (drum roll) … It’s NOT about YOU! Never forget that. It’s about the content you share and how you present it. Presenters can be pretty or ugly, tall or short, fat or slim. No one cares if the message is worth listening to. Don't worry about titles, what you wear or if your hair is perfect. Worry only about your presentation. It’s what counts.

Going LIVE

“Live Interview"- what an intimidating phrase that can be, but only if you are not prepared!

Define your key message first:

  • What is your core belief?  (“the world needs good education” for example)
  • What is your mission?  (how you want to solve this problem)
  • Whom do you want to help? (target group)
  • How can you help? (your product and offer)
  • How can people find you? (most important)

Once you have these foundational blocks ready and feel good about them, prepare a 30 minute interview and give your reporter the questions they need to ask. Train with a friend until you are concise and to the point. The clearer your message the bigger your success.

Then reduce it to a 10 minute short interview and a 3 minute elevator pitch. You will notice that long ramblings are easy, but to come to the point is an art. To fill a short conversation with passion and emotions for others to feel is the ultimate goal.

Workshops

Once you feel confident with all of the above you will have no problem with a workshop. Start with 2.5 hours and see how you go. Keep them focussed on one subject and do not deviate. Stay natural, don't play a role, and fill your presentation with plenty of feeling. Crack a few jokes and hook them emotionally and people will love your workshop.

Warning

Coaches can fall easily into the trap on focusing to treat clients even though they are not a health practitioner with a license to treat, read tests or prescribe supplements.

This means you are leaning very dangerously out of a window and may fall very hard. I do not suggest you do that, to the contrary let me warn you! Don't offer services you are not licensed to do. Rather work with a health professional and prepare clients for them. Build a team with a local doctor and let them do the tests and treatments while you help the client to understand, implement and incorporate the treatments.

Reciprocity

Now let's put all of this together. In a world where marketing, hyped promises and media over consumption has killed public trust, you cannot promote yourself in the same way as you did 20 years ago. "Pick me, I am the best, I can help you better than everyone else" does not work any more.

You need to earn the TRUST of your clients. Why should you know more than professionals ? Well ..... we know why and it’s obvious, but for a person growing up in this hierarchy of titles it is not. They need proof that you are the real deal.

That’s why your free talks, newsletters and presentations are so important. First they create publicity and if the content is good, people will respect and trust you. If you present with confidence and with the air of authority (because you have trained with your camera and friends) they feel it and will trust you.

The education you share will also create RECIPROCITY. You give valuable information to improve the life of others, in return most people are grateful.

Learning By Doing

The process of learning by teaching is by far the best way to internalize and digest knowledge and turn it into experience.

Walk the talk and experience the transformation you want to sell to your clients. Adapt a healthy lifestyle for yourself. It will make a huge difference in how certain you become. That’s authority beyond everybody's expectation. You will be known for expertise in so many areas that everybody can and will trust.

Products

If you have nothing for sale you won't make any money. You have to have products and I don’t mean only physical items, I mean everything that can be defined, valued and paid for. Even if it’s just your hourly rate.

In the case of a doctor this is very simple. They charge either per hour or per defined program and the receptionist takes payment. It's a great system because the doctor is not associated with money.

For a coach this can be difficult if you have to ask for money yourself.  I personally had big problems with this because most of my coaching clients turned into friends and it became almost impossible to charge for my time. That's why you need to have very clearly defined products that do not leave space for mis interpretation.

From our experience it’s best to offer:

  • First evaluation questionnaire / patient take-in / consultation
  • Consultation block with clearly defined times and services
  • Home inspection package
  • Shopping and life transformation package
  • Detox package
  • Lifestyle package
  • Treatment education
  • Device education
  • Sell wholesale devices
  • Send your client to an education page with your affiliate link
  • Offer all the programs you are passionate about.
